The Hadassah Art Gallery presents "Memory Tricks," by Paula Elion and Vered Aharonovitch.
Grand Opening: Friday, 3.12.2010 at 12:00
Closing: 31.12.2010
Curator: Ofra Zucker
The Hadassah Art Gallery at Merkaz Hamagshimim Hadassah aims to provide a platform for both new and old olim artists with native Israelis.
The new exhibition, opening at the beginning of December, puts the emphasis on the subject of Memory. Vered Aharonovitch, born in Israel, and Paula Elion, born in Argentina, are checking the Memory of the Moment. They are both using family photographs in their work which they are copying onto canvas, and by doing so they are asking what "exactly happened at that moment"? Does the memory influence the happenings or is it the picture that builds the memory? What happens before taking the photo? What happens after? Does the photo represent the actual moment or maybe is it the person who directs the moment they wish to remember?
