The Haifa Municipal Theatre presents a production of The Queen Mother by Manlio Santanelli, directed by Ilan Shani at the Jerusalem Theatre. Hebrew adaptation by Rivka Meshulach. The play tells the story of a failing journalist and his miserly, obsessive, aging mother. The journalist son returns home to live with his mother under the pretext of wanting to take care of her in her old age, but his real reason for doing so is selfish: he hopes to publish a sensationalist journal of his mother’s last days, thereby reviving his career.
