While there's months worth to see and do across Israel, a visitor could see only the sites on this tour and still leave happy. Spanning the breadth of Jerusalem and the Judean Desert, the tour encompasses all the must-see landmarks of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea region, with all the convenience a quality tour affords.
 

Day 1:

Wednesday (tour starts in Jerusalem)

Day one of the Jerusalem and Masada three day tour starts with an in-depth tour of ancient Jerusalem. The tour starts with a visit of the tomb of King David on Mt. Zion. The tour will then walk through to the Cardoalong the ancient Roman road. Whilst in the Old City you will visit the four Sepharadic synagogues restored after 1967 war in the Jewish quarter. The tour continues to the Kotel Tunnels . Journey under ground through the labrynth of tunnels that runs directly underneath the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock. After you have reemerged from underground you will visit the Davidson center and return to the Roman Cardo . Take the opportunity to explore the local Arab bazaar. The day finishes with a tour of Tower David museum exploring the ancient remains of the city fro, the beginning with the first Temple period. Overnight stay in 4* Jerusalem hotel 


DAY 2

Thursday

Having spent the first day of this three day tour on a journey through the ancient sights, the second day will focus on the modern side of Jerusalem. The first stop during the day will see you return to The Kotel to watch aBar-Mitzvah ceremony. See the ancient traditions come to life in front of your eyes in this magnificent setting. The day continues with a tour of Mea Shearim. Here you will learn about the unique lifestyle of this ultra orthodox community. Following this the tour will drive to Mount Hertzl, the military cemetery and Yad Vashem , the memorial museum to the Holocaust. 

 

Proceeding this the tour will head to Ammunition Hill. This was a former Jordanian army stronghold and remains in situ as a maze of trenches which are open and available for you to climb around and explore. They were captured by the Israeli army in the Six Day War, and converted into a national memorial and museum. After this you will be taken to the Knesset, Israel’s parliament and see the Menorah which stands opposite the Knesset on the edge of the rose garden. The Menorah, which was hand scultped and gifted to Israel by British Sculptor Benno Elkan in 1956 is covered in some 30 symbols from historic events, idioms and characters from Jewish history. Your final stop of the day will be the world famous Israel Museum, home of some of the most precious and ancient artifacts including, the Shrine of the book which is where the Dead sea scrolls are housed. Conversely there is also the new holyland model, a miniature replica of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period. Overnight stay in 4* Jerusalem hotel


DAY 3

Friday

This is the final day of your trip and a chance to head out of Jerusalem. You will start the day by driving through the Judean desert to the Dead sea. Take in the stunning scenery of the Judean desert. You will then stop at Qumeran caves, the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. From here you will continue to the ancient fortress of Massada , ascend by cable car and tour the painstakingly restored ruins. Visit the remains of the walls, palaces, bathouses and even synagogue. Once you have satisified your archaeological appetite you will descend by cable car. The next stop will be for lunch at one of the local Spa hotels where you will have access to the facilities for the duration of the afternoon. Return to Jerusalem feeling enriched and relaxed.
