About

Occupying an impressively sized chunk of real estate right off Ben-Yehuda on Luntz Street, Rimon (pomegranate) tries to be several different kinds of establishments at once: one section is a meat restaurant, another is a dairy cafe, and the whole sprawling affair is open for 24 hours.

The expansive restaurant includes outdoor seating, multiple rooms both upstairs and downstairs, with seating for groups ranging from massive parties to couples, and even a fireplace.

The dairy cafe serves imported Illy coffee along with salads, pastas, blintzes, soup, sandwiches and fish, along with a Bible-length dessert menu. The meat restaurant offers a selection of soups, salads and meats both Western (plenty of steak and other permutations of beef) and Middle Eastern (kebab and shishlik).

Rimon is well suited for large parties and popular with a foreign crowd, so diners seeking cafe intimacy may be forced to contend with an extended family of 25 in town for a bar mitzvah.
