The high-profile restaurants of Jerusalem's luxury hotels have in recent years proven to both the Jewish people and to the world at large that limiting one's self to a kosher palate need not necessarily rule out the possibility of gourmet dining.
The Inbal Hotel, located off Keren Hayesod Street near the bustling and extremely tourist-friendly German Colony, is home to Sofia, a gourmet kosher dairy restaurant that aims for maximum appeal with an extensive menu of Italian fare.
Start off a meal with a choice from the list of antipasti (crostini, salmon carpaccio, salmon and avocado tartar and more). The selection of pasta, made fresh every day in-house, includes the familiar spaghetti pomodoro and fettuccine alfredo as well as more creative dishes like sweet potato-stuffed ravioli in cream sauce with tomato and broccoli topping. Fish lovers will be pleased with the selection of various preparations of local fish. Desserts include tiramisu, sorbet and several varieties of cake - which, should you feel guilty, you can work off at the adjoining Inbal health club.
Sofia offers a 69 NIS business lunch from 12:30 until 15:30.
