Chaotic Muse: Arts Party at 16.08.2017

Until 16.08.2017

Wednesday | August 16 | 19:30

A night of modern dance, pop-up exhibition, spoken word, an interactive voice performance, local folk music, and a Middle Eastern dance party

All the performances are original works by Jerusalemite artists, and incorporate interpretation of artifacts in the museum; revealing hidden secrets and subtexts in the ancient sculptures and treasures on display.

Program:

From the End of the World Back to its End – 10 female artists of A Studio of Her Own

will launch their pop – up exhibition.

Awake – a dance and performance piece by the choreographer Ma'ayan Liebman Sharon, dancer Maya Reshef, and the artists Yael Buchbinder Shimoni and Lea Laukstein.

The piece revolves around the profound changes of women's status in the social hierarchy.

The performance was created in the artistic incubator program of Adopt an Artist that the BLMJ launched this year in conjunction with the Department of Dance of the Jerusalem municipality.

Spoken Gallery – a collaboration between the BLMJ and Poetry Slam Israel.

Zvia Margaliot, Roei Revitzki and Ellen Potless in a spoken word performance about their personal experiences at the museum.

Two dance performances; two narratives of the feminine and the masculine in ancient art:

Stereotypical | Sigal Armoza: Reflects on femininity, the female body, and questions of age, time, and sexuality.

Sigal deals with the physicality of feminine icons, and observes them as a frame of reference that evokes gender differentiation.

In His Image – Amir Mei Tal: Deals with the Classic male form and how it differs from the reality of men today.

A Journey with the Patriarchs | Idan Sekler: An interactive voice performance animating the museum's artifacts.

In the second part of our nocturnal fest:

we'll relish some traditional Jewish Folk music by Doron Rephaeli of Tararam, ATRAF, Minuet and more.

A fiesta of traditional Kurdish and Bukharin Jewish music fusing the melodies of the synagogue with a hot groove.

And Finally – PAAARTYYY! DANCE PARTY WITH DJ RAMZY

Come and shake it with the current beats and hits of the Middle East!
