Ceremony at the Western Wall at 20:00: Memorial Day opening ceremony at the Western Wall Plaza with President Shimon Peres, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, IDF Commander in Chief, VIPs, and bereaved familes.


Ceremonies at Community Centers at 20:00: songs and stories, candle lighting ceremony, lowering the flag to half mast, placing wreaths, and reading the names of the fallen. Ceremonies will take place in Beit Hakerem, Kiryat Moshe, Baka, Gonenim, Gilo, French Hill, Homat Shmuel, Ginot Hair, Neve Yaakov, Pisgat Ze'ev, Katamon, Kiryat Yovel, Kiryat Menachem, Romema, Ramot Alon, Shmuel Hanavi, East Talpiot.


"Singing at the Center" at Safra Square at 21:00: An evening of song and remembrances for fallen soldiers and victims of terror. With musicians Leah Shabbat, Dana Berger, Ron Shuval, Idan Haviv, Hamadregot, Inbal Gershkowitz, and Liron Ben Shimon, accompanied by the Young Jerusalem Street Orchestra. Mayor Nir Barkat will be in attendance. Free entrance, warm clothing recommended.


Central assembly at Sultan's Pool at 19:45: songs, stories, and moments which represent people from all segments of society and music in Israel. An evening of focusing on hope and togetherness, despite the bereavement and loss. Doors close at 19:15. Warm clothing recommended. The event will be broadcast live on television, radio, and internet. Tickets are sold out.

Memorial Day, April 15, 2013:


Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Jerusalem Brigade's Memorial Monuments at 9:00: the ceremonies will take place at various monuments and in schools.


Memorial Day Ceremony at Safra Square at 9:15: Mayor Nir Barkat will be in attendance as well as representatives from various army brigades, students, guests, and the Jerusalem municipality staff. Program includes mayor's remarks, a performance by Idan Haviv, Cantor Rabbi Yosef A. Wasserman, Kadish recited by a bereaved father, psalms, and Yizkor. Moderator: Zvi Sultun.


Official State Ceremonies at Mount Herzl:
11:00: ceremony for fallen soldiers
13:00: ceremony for victims of terror
The prime minister, MKs, Mayor Nir Barkat, and bereaved families will be in attendance.
