Candle lighting ceremony at Har Herzl
The annual candle lighting ceremony, which serves as a transition from Remembrance Day to Independence Day, will take place at Har Herzl at 19:45. Entrance is by invitation only.
Main stage at Kikar Hachatulot (Cats Square): Celebrating 65 years for Israel, main stage performances between 21:00-1:00. Itzik Kalah, Ron Shuval, Sy Hyman, Gilad Segev, Shir Biton, and Michael Greilsammer. DJ Elad Emdi. Free entrance>
Hillel Street Stage: Beginning at 21:00 - street party for students and youth with the Student Union and Tzeirim Bamerkaz. DJs Idan Ben Hamu, Ron Yazrieli, Hanan Hornik, Oren Sestah. Free entrance.
Hamashbir Plaza Stage: Party for the national religious crowd with the Ezra Youth Movement, Bnei Akiva, and more, for the public, with live performances by Yishai Lapid and Oyf Simchas. Israeli dancing with Eliezer Rosenfeld and Hanigun Shebalev. DJ Hanania Ochana.
Singing Independence at Safra Square from 21:00-23:00 with Einat Shrof: Israeli classics, army favorites with the queen of sing alongs - Einat Shrof. Free entrance.
Israeli Dancing at Safra Square from 23:00-03:30: Massive Israeli dancing event in the plaza led by Haim Tzemach, Rami Avraham, Mia Shilon, Yossi Miara and Nurit Melamed.
A central fireworks display will take place at 22:30 and 24:30 over the Experimental School in Gan Ha'atzmaut.

Independence Day celebrations and fireworks displays will take place in community centers around the city.
Independence Day eve celebration at the Western Wall: Festive prayer ceremony at 18:00 followed by dancing.

Traffic and parking on Yom Ha'atzmaut:
April 15, 2013: The following streets will be closed to traffic from 19:00-04:00: King George from Shmuel Hanagid Junction until Yaffo Street Junction, Hillel, Hahistadrut, Shamai, Biankini, Rabbi Akiva, Mavo Hamatmid, Meir Shacham, Menashe Ben Yisrael,-crosses Independence Park, Ben Sira, Hasoreg, Strauss - from Haneviim until Yaffo.
Parking: T Russian Compound parking lot will be open free from 15:00 on the eve of Yom Ha'atzmaut and on Yom Ha'atzmaut day all day. On Yom Ha'atzmaut eve Safra Square will be open to the public for free. On Yom Ha'atzmaut it will be open but not free. On Yom Ha'atzmaut Eve the Light Rail will operate until 3:00 in the morning. Drivers are asked to follow instructions. Illegally parked cars will be towed. Public transportation is recommended. Public transportation will run on a heightened expanded schedule.
