: About the band: The New Orleans Function jazz band is a dream come true for its founders. Enthusiastic disciples of the great masters of traditional jazz, the members of the band attempt to breath life into the good old music of the first half of the previous century: love songs, dances, spirituals, and the blues. The sound of traditional New Orleans jazz, (also referred to as dixieland) with its improvised brass playing, joyous beat and mournful blues is familiar all over the world, and the musicians successfully share their love for this music with the audience. Following the footsteps of the innovators of this classical style of playing, they are digging into the sounds of historic recordings in order to understand the style thoroughly. The result is a lively variety of happy and sad music, performed as its supposed to be: honestly and with great love.

Yair Salzman-drums / Yoav Kolumbus-bass / Arnon DeBotton-trombone / Shimi (Panza) Gilad- Banjo / Eli Preminger-Trumpet / Gal Dahan-soprano saxophone

*The performance will be accompanied by Jerusalemite Swing dancers.
