Children enjoy free entrance to the museum I Sunday – Thursday, July 15 – August 30
With an air-conditioned activity tent in the moat, guided tours of the exhibition, self-guided activity booklets in English and workshops throughout the day – Rock Paper Scissors offers the whole family to engage in creativity and the world of paper!
The exhibition “Rock Paper Scissors” by the international artist Karen Sargsyan, a world-renowned paper artist, opens in July at the Tower of David Museum. Sargsyan sculpts multi-layered personalities with paper and thin aluminum and even though made of such fine materials, Sargsyan’s figures have a surprising presence which is full of life and seem as if at any moment they will burst out of their paper shell and spring to life. Specially for this new exhibition, Sargsyan presents the monumental personages of King David, King Solomon, King Herod, the Queen of Sheba, Cyrus the Great, and others, in order to conduct a gripping contemporary dialog between art, history and archaeology within the walls of the Tower of David.
