Angel Café (Nayot)
The Israeli Angel bakery, bringer of bread to the nation, was apparently not content with merely the industrial side of bread-making. Sensing an environment ripe for the establishment of a dairy cafe, of which there can never be too many, Angel expanded into the chain restaurant business, setting up several outposts throughout Jerusalem, including downtown in the Merkaz Hapa'amon, on Harav Herzog Street, in Givat Shaul on Kanfei Nesharim and on Talpiot's Yad Charutzim restaurant row.
In these large, family-friendly restaurants, you'll of course find plenty of examples of Angel's baked products, much fresher at the restaurant than in the plastic bags at the supermarket, and the unsurprising remainder of the menu includes big salads, dairy sandwiches, pastas, desserts and all the other things Israelis love from their coffeehouses. And, of course, Angel is a coffeehouse as well, serving up the standard selection of Israeli-style coffee and Wisotzky teas.
