The American Colony Hotel on Louis Vincent St. is one of the city's enduring landmarks, founded in the early 20th century to provide Western-style accommodation and company for the city's visiting dignitaries. The hotel's main restaurant is The Arabesque, decorated as its name would suggest with the finest in Middle Eastern furnishings, and serving a menu stocked with both Western gourmet dishes and authentic renderings of the traditional cuisine, including Shrimp Falafel, Goose Liver Terrine, and mouthwatering oriental feast for two. Lunchtime on Saturday features an epic all-you-can-eat brunch buffet, overlooking the stunning view of the famous American Colony Courtyard. Don't be surprised to share the dining room with faces you recognize from the evening news.
