Café Ne'eman/Sambooki
Israeli chains tend to appear on the culinary scene like a lightning bolt and then rapidly replicate throughout the city and country. The best examples are the coffee chains Cafe Hillel and Aroma Espresso Bar (which has spread even to New York City), but Cafe Ne'eman fits the trend just as well.
In just a couple of years, it's spread to multiple locations throughout Jerusalem, with three within a five-minute walk or less from each other – one on Jaffa Road by the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, one on Jaffa Road at the corner of King George (where Sbarro used to be), and one on King George Street at the former site of landmark Jerusalem restaurant Fink's.
Ne'eman's specialty is takeout baked goods – cookies, cakes, rugelach, cinnamon rolls and more – but they've got an interest in the cafe racket too, meaning you can get coffees, teas, ice drinks, pizzas and light dairy sandwiches. Certain branches of the chain are paired with Sambooki, which is a coffeeshop.
