Gabriel
Gabriel
Right around the corner from hopping upscale bar and restaurant district Shlomtzion Hamalka Street, Gabriel caters to a crowd a bit different from Shlomtzi's young and trendy party animals – a crowd with a bit of money to burn looking for gourmet European cuisine prepared to the strictest standards of Jewish dietary laws.
Designed with modernistic flair, with polished wood floors, curved-back leather-upholstered chairs, artistic light fixtures and an angled bar taking up one wall, Gabriel appeals to the kosher l'mehadrin consumer with class, perfect for the kind of business meals meant to impress.
The menu focuses on pan-European meat dishes with a French focus, including foie gras, beef carpaccio, veal tartar, steaks, beef Wellington and the piece de resistance at an eyebrow-raising 289 NIS, a 500 gram Chateaubriand steak with a choice of accompanying sauces (serves two).
Business lunch, served from 12:00 until 17:00, is a great deal from 50 to 75 shekels.
