La Guta

La Guta

La Guta was one of the first Jerusalem restaurants to elevate kosher food into European-inflected fine dining, informed by modern culinary trends and techniques and the freshest local ingredients and flavors. And that veteran status in the Jerusalem restaurant sphere is complemented by an elegant location in an old stone building on Jerusalem's Beit Lechem Road.

La Guta offers a generous selection of pan-Mediterranean gourmet fare, all served with chef Guy ben Simhon's attention to detail and artistic flair. The menu is frequently updated to reflect season and ingredients, but selections often focus on fresh Mediterranean fish (prepared, for example, baked whole with Kalamata olives and preserved lemon vinaigrette), with nods to Israel's diverse culinary heritage (merguez sausage with harissa) and plenty of honest bistro-style steak dishes.

La Guta currently serves only dinner throughout the week, except on Fridays when the restaurant switches over to selling a special (and extensive) takeout menu for extra-refined Shabbat dinners at home (see Takeout tab above). The restaurant is also available for special group bookings.
