Avazi
Avazi
The great Israeli tradition of mangal (grill) is not easily brought indoors and made for mass consumption. Many try, to varying degrees of success and joining the fray in Jerusalem now is the chain Avazi, which has led the way from Haifa to Holon in the barbecue arts. Unlike most grill joints in Israel, that serve everything on a skewer and call it a day, Avazi's menu also includes the ultra fancy goose liver (Avazi means "my goose"), the not so delicious sounding turkey testicles and wide array of fresh salads put on every table. The food's not too pricey either. The spacious Talpiot location may be a bit out of the way (unless you happen to live there), but the ride is worth it to get to one of the chain's only kosher branches.
