Sukkot 2012: Grape Harvest Festival in Gush Etzion
Come celebrate agriculture in Gush Etzion!
Wednesday and Thursday, October 3-4, 2012 from 10:00-16:00
Over the intermediate days of Sukkot a grape harvest festival will take place in the vineyards opposite the Gush Etzion winery. Come harvest grapes with pruning shears and baskets, stomp on grapes in the wine press, express wine, and find out the sugar content of grapes in a special lab for kids. A chefs corner will offer tastes of foods containing grapes and wine. Whoever can correctly identify the tastes of Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Sauvignon wines will be entered to win a prize (tastings are for ages 18+). Other attractions include a guided tour, treasure hunt in the vineyards, and a festive atmosphere with arts and crafts, face painting, displays, and a Gymboree for tykes. In addition, there will be artists selling their wares, food for sale, a Sukkah, and a vineyard photography contest.
Strollers are not recommended.
