Burgers Bar, a nationwide chain with multiple outlets across Jerusalem, specializes in hamburgers, as its name might lead you to believe - but these are burgers with a twist, redefined from the American diner classic to suit kosher dietary sensibilities and Israelis' natural inclination towards international culinary fusion.

You might not be able to grab a bacon cheeseburger at Burgers Bar, but you'll find plenty of unique and appetizing extras to personalize your burger. The base burger is freshly crafted to order, weighing in at one of three sizes from 150 to 300 grams (even the smallest is a pretty big burger - much larger than the fast food standard). Top your patty with anything that suits your fancy, from Argentinian chimichurri and Italian pesto to Yemenite charif and Middle Eastern tehina, or the favorite Israeli cheese substitute on a burger, a fried egg. 

The menu includes a respectable lineup of non-burger choices too (even a couple options for vegetarians), emphasizing Western-style comfort food: steak sandwiches, chicken salad, chicken strips, onion rings, wings, wraps and more - with churros for dessert.

The Talpiot location, like the other branches, lets you watch the grill as your burgers comes together - and it's a great lunch spot for those working or shopping in Jerusalem's industrial zone.
